My snow necessities...

Okay, since the snow is going to be slamming into my area and I will probably...no, most likely...oh who am I kidding...we are definitely getting a Winter blast and my back yard will resemble something like a snow globe shaken by a head-banger with Tourettes. Given this to be true, I caved into the "We're getting SNOW!!!! Let me flock to the stores with the rest of my Baltimore natives buying everything from milk and toilet paper to Budweiser and Wings."

I also had to think ahead to how I will spend my time this weekend. Scrapping will definitely come into play and I was SO beyond excited when my 2Peas in a Bucket order arrived yesterday! I treated myself and placed an order...just in time it seems! :-) I even stopped at Staples and got more ink and yet more photo paper! Snow? Bring it on! I'm fully stocked! (I even remembered the Bud and Wings! )

Ahhh, more cold, wet stuff....

I am no fan of snow, that is no secret... the only benefit I see to snow is having off school. Last night we were to be hit with another up to 6 inches... it didn't start until about 6:30 which in my opinion is late enough to build up enough snow to close school. However, imagine my disappointment when this morning we only had a 2 hour delay. That is worse than just going in on time. Sure we get to sleep a little longer but because they didn't make the call until AFTER I went to bed I had to still get up at 6 and check. The sheer irritation of it only being a delay was enough to make me unable to fall back asleep. So much for more sleep.... and then by the time we get to school... it's pushing 10:30. The day is half over for heaven's sake, it's almost lunch time!

I mean, it is pretty but it is also annoying, especially when it doesn't even close schools!

Scripture Challenge - Week 2 - *Temptation*

I finally made myself do this layout. I was on a roll..first page, done-yes!, second page, no problem!, third page...uh, what's the word? Temptation....oohhh, who wants to think about that. It's much easier to think about Hope and Love and Promises and all of that. It's a balance though...there is no strength without temptation. If we had nothing to tempt us, we would never develop the strength to resist temptation. We would never learn to rely on Jesus and we would be weak, giving in to any worldly bit that came our way. So while temptation may not be a happy thought, it can have a happy ending.
*edited to add that this is a 6 x 6 layout*

Where's the "scraps"?

Did I take the "scrap" out of scrapping? Must have because there certainly aren't any scraps to be found. I was looking through the LO gallery recently and saw some desks that looked like a paper cart had exploded. Until then I thought I was a messy scrapper. I feel like I have lots of stuff pulled out but I guess the reality is that it probably looks like it's not even being used.

I find that as I'm cutting paper I just put the scraps in the trash (unless they can be saved) and that I only pull out embellishments that I think I'll use. Also, before I go on to another LO, I put EVERYTHING away, even adhesive and scissors.

Scripture Challenge - Week 1 - *Hope*

The first word for the Scripture Challenge was "Hope"! What a fantastic choice for the beginning of a new year.... :-)
Next word is "temptation"...oohhh that's a hard one. Not one I'm looking forward to... lol

Scripture Challenge - Title Page

I recently joined a Scripture Challenge and I am SO excited about it! Or, maybe I should so so thankful about it... as usual, God, who is so faithful send us just what we need when we need it.
This Scripture Challenge is believe it or not, exactly what I need right now... :-)
This is the title page. I chose to do it 6 x 6 and ordered a vertical stand to display the LO's on. It arrived yesterday and I just got done painting it. Soon as the paint dries I'll post pics of it all together. :-)

3 cheers for A.C. Moore...!

I don't normally publically support individual stores or suppliers...I think they're all fab in their own way and I get my stuff from all different places, websites, etc.

However, I really needed 6 x 6 page protectors and FORGOT to order them when I ordered the Vertical Stand I am using for the newest challenge I joined. Anywho, Joann's didn'thave them, Michael's doesn't even carry them (?), and a local LSS didn't have them either. I didn't want to pay for shipping (or wait for them to be delivered!!) so I headed to my last local option...A.C. Moore! They had them! The "have to have it now" part of me rejoiced! I bought 3 packs which is enough for the year....won't have THAT problem again! :-)
